Why are there only 250 weekend passes sold?
Windsong is for music fans that want a unique experience to see some of Canada's biggest and brightest stars in an intimate setting. Sure, it's exciting to be in a crowd of thousands, but we think it's also really special to enjoy a concert with a small group, where the music is the only focus.
What happens if it rains?
Windsong happens rain or shine... and most of the seating is under tents.
Why do you charge for kids?
Kid seats take up as much space under the tent as an adult, so we have to charge something to help "offset" the loss of not selling an "adult ticket" ... But more importantly, Windsong is unlike other festivals both in its size and ascetics, so we want to encourage parents and kids to come for the opportunity to enjoy the music in a safe and accessible space ... And when we looked at the cost of Canada's Wonderland, Santa's Village, and the Royal Ontario Museum, we wanted to charge a price that reflected the cultural experience being offered.
Are there food and beer vendors on site?
We do not have any food vendors on site however everyone is welcome to bring their own food and we supply a group of gas BBQ's for folks to use, and a pot of boiling water if anyone wants to bring corn on the cob.
On Sunday morning, folks gather on stage for a pot luck brunch from 9 -11:00 AM.
Everyone is welcome to bring their favourite beer, wine, and spirits. (Please, no beer or pre-mixed drinks in glass bottles. Wine and whiskey bottles are permitted.)
How long are the concerts?
Except for our "emerging artists" most performers play a 90 minute concert, so you have time to savour each show.
Can we bring our dog?
Sorry, no dogs or pets are permitted on the festival or parking grounds. Service dogs with a harness are permitted.
Do you offer camping with clean drinking water?
We offer group camping tent sites and a separate camping area for trailers, RV's and camper trucks/vans. All of the sites are within a stone's throw of the stage, port-a-potties, outdoor shower and washing station. We also offer clean drinking and dish washing water.
Are there rules concerning seating?
Lawn chairs are permitted under the tent, but they must be single seat, standard size only. Gravity chairs, high backs, chairs with extending foot rests, canopies or tables are not permitted under the tent.
Due to the limited space, hard shell coolers are not permitted under the tent either. Soft shell coolers, small enough to fit under your chair will be permitted.
Lastly, folks are not permitted to "save their seats" by setting up their chair and leaving the area. The policy is that if your chair is under the tent, it must be occupied.
